Shatali Sanpshots
The nearest airport is Bagdogra. Fome there, it is a few hours drive to Shatali. Alternately, you can head to New Jalpaiguri Station and take the Kanchenkanya Express or any other local train to Hasimara. No point asking me specifics. My mental faculties are not upto processing distance, time and direction.
The route will strike you as very scenic; forests interspersed with tea gardens and rivers; though daily commuters won't even bother looking out the window.
If you have a Sunday to spare, do make a trip to Hamilton Ganj and check out this bustling little market. They will have stuff you've never seen at a supermarket and never knew you needed.
Like tambul pata or tobacco leaves, for instance.

Don't forget to try the chana gorom, jhal muri, shingara and lebu cha on the train. All this, to be followed by one 'gelusil' tablet to aid digestion.
The Robibar Bazaar may sound similar to Big Bazaar but is nothing like it.
